About the role

Are you a flexible, innovative, and positive person who likes working and interacting with customers to find solutions and effective outcomes? Do you enjoy exploring information to find effective customer-focused solutions? Do you have strong computer skills?

We are looking for someone with strong computer and administration skills and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment. The suitable applicate will soon become a revenue expert with exceptional customer problem-solving skills, improving processes, and upskilling the Customer Service Team to answer general rates inquiries.

Whilst local government rates and customer service experience are advantageous, a training and developing plan is developed to ensure the candidate's success. The first 12 months will be spent working directly with the Revenue Team to build knowledge to provide accurate advice. During this time, you will be the direct contact for the Customer Service Team for rates enquiries. The training plan involves learning about Revenue (rates/water) functions, including but not limited to Property & Land Rating and Water rating queries.

This position can provide a stepping stone to further your career at Clarence Valley Council. This position allows you to develop multiple skills and capabilities within the local government working environment.

    2. Demonstrate your capacity to communicate confidently and courteously with people at all levels by describing an interaction with a difficult customer. What was the outcome? What did you learn from the experience?

This position is located at Council's Grafton Office, however, this may change should business needs identify other work locations to be more appropriate to deliver our services in the future.

A probation period applies to this position.
