Probation wage: $19.56 per hour (first 400 working hours)
Wage after probation: $24.30
Maritime Paper Products LP is hiring for the position of Production Labourer in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
- This is a full-time position
- You may need to work overtime
- You must be available to work rotating shifts (not always the same times and days of the week), weekends, and holidays
We are looking for people who are dependable, energetic and have a positive attitude. After you get more experience, you should be willing to work at the machine operator level. You should be comfortable working as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Help with set up and operate the machine by following the customer’s order
- Stack and pile the orders by following the customer’s requests
- Inspect the orders to make sure they are done properly
- Keep a safe and clean workplace. Follow health and safety and housekeeping rules. Use PPE (personal protective equipment) properly.
- Follow all the rules of the Company
Qualifications:
Physical
You need to be able to:
- Walk, stand, lift, push, pull, reach at or above your shoulder level, bend over, crawl, climb and kneel for long periods of time
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly
Eyesight
You need to be able to:
- see far away and close up, recognize differences in colours, and have good depth perception (be able to judge how far away or close up things are to you)
Education
You must have:
- The ability to learn to work different kinds of equipment
- It is an asset if you have extra training in manufacturing trades
The Workplace
- You need to be able to work in a busy place that has many interruptions
- You need to be able to work in a place that can be noisy, dusty, slippery, and very hot or very cold
