You will be responsible for maintaining appropriate assurance across the organisation by supporting the planning and execution of reviews in the 2nd line assurance plan.

You will make a difference by: -
  • Support the planning, execution and reporting of 2nd line assurance reviews and activities (including thematic assurance reviews and targeted controls oversight reviews);
  • Deliver relevant workpapers and other outputs on-time and to a high quality;
  • Assist with relevant work relating to the development and maintenance of relevant assurance frameworks, standards, systems and tools;
  • Assist with other ad hoc assurance activities as required, which may include (but is not limited to) development of the 2nd line assurance plan, provision of assurance Subject Matter Expert support and insights, and internal team strategic initiatives.

A little bit about you: -
  • Undergraduate degree in Business/Commerce, Law or relevant subjects;
  • Postgraduate studies in Risk, Compliance and/or Finance (well regarded);
  • Demonstrated experience in complex financial services organisations (or other complex regulated industries) or consulting firms;
  • Previous experience in a risk or assurance role;
  • Understanding of Enterprise Risk Management principles, including risks and controls, and the 3 lines of defence model;
  • Awareness of the regulatory system as it applies to complex Australian financial service providers (or other complex regulated industries);
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Good time management and ability to adapt to changing priorities;
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and deal with ambiguity.
