What will you do

Our climate is changing, from increasing temperatures and shifting precipitation patterns, to rising sea levels and more frequent and severe weather events. Alongside this, the global economy is embarking on a low carbon transition. At Royal HaskoningDHV, we help governments, businesses, and communities plan for, and adapt to these changes. We also support clients to navigate the uncertainties of a low-carbon transition, identifying climate-related risks, and developing strategies to build resilience to emerging shocks and stresses.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Senior Climate Change and Resilience Consultant to join our growing team within Southeast Asia. You’ll work within a multi-disciplinary team on a wide range of projects across multiple sectors (maritime, water, built environment, land use, energy, and transport). This is an opportunity to help support the delivery of climate change services in a fast moving, client focused environment.

Reporting to the Climate Change and Resilience Advisory Expert this role would suit either an environmental specialist or environmental engineer with a background in climate change or sustainability.

What you bring

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in science, engineering, sustainability, or similar certification.
  • At least 8 years of experience in a large and dynamic organisations and Climate Change & Sustainability consulting experience.
  • Experience working in an international, multicultural, and diverse environment, with collaborative approach and working across sectoral and regional boundaries.
  • Thorough understanding and experience of international climate change frameworks.
  • Experience working as a consultant or an in-house role responsible for identifying climate change risks and putting in place risk mitigation plans.
  • Understanding of global climate change science and international decarbonisation scenarios as well as best practice approaches to risk assessment and quantification.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with a proven ability of generating work.
  • Enthusiastic and ambitious, with a passion for continual professional development.
  • Highly motivated and conscientious with the ability to deliver work to the highest standards.
  • Team and client focused and able to collaborate in a multi-discipline multi-geography environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to lead and develop others.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary.

Preferably:

  • A master’s degree in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field.
  • Understanding of ESG/Sustainability issues and relevant tools and frameworks.
  • Strategic disclosures on sustainability and climate change risks such as TCFD report, Sustainability Reports, NGER Report.
  • Identifying opportunities and preparing successful proposals to win work.
  • Strong project management and personnel management skills
