WHO WE ARE:
Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.
As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.
ROLE SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Health and Rehabilitation Lead, the Health and Rehabilitation Officer provides comprehensive support to the Health and Safety team with a focus on financial support tasks, injury management and work cover claims administration. Providing a point of contact for staff and volunteers for all enquiries, this role requires a high level of understanding of Health and Safety team roles/responsibilities to effectively triage enquires as appropriate.
This role requires a flexible solution focused approach with the ability to balance competing demands and to plan for and deliver specific outcomes within clearly defined time and resource constraints. This role also requires the ability to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of VICSES processes and to find better ways of operating to assist this functional area towards achieving VICSES goals.
The Health and Rehabilitation Officer provides support to the volunteers and staff who are injured at VICSES while also supporting the Health and Safety team in embedding the Health and Wellbeing Strategy across VICSES.
